Living, Loving, Laughing a Life in Jamaica

written on 09-25-17 So our ship came in, I was contacted to be advised our container was here!!! (Insert Happy Dance and Cheering here) So I gathered up the required documents, and took a spin down to the shipping office, I sat with my girl Nicole we had been emailing back and forth for a day or two getting everything together, I wanted to make sure I dotted all my i's and crossed my t's because that is who I am, I like to be prepared.  I am used to taking care of business. So there I sat with all my documents, dressed rather snazzy if I do say so myself, poised and ready for any question they had of me.  Then I was taken to a different office and here is where I got the big BUT... M: well yes it is my stuff T: But you are not an expat we need the expat M: well yes, I am here with my husband who is here on a contract T: Well then you are nothing, we need your husband with the work...

One Love, One Heart, move to Jamaica and feel alright So here it goes, I have finally arrived on the beautiful island of Jamaica, my new home.  So many questions, so many things to learn, a little overwhelming and where do you start.  This first blog will be all over the place as that is where my mind is, all over! I am here.  Seems each day I wake up and pinch myself, is this really happening?  Am I really going to live here?  What does that mean?  What does it mean to live in Jamaica as a Canadian?  What does it mean to me?  So far it means hot weather everyday, it means beautiful scenery, it means being where my husband works and daughter goes to school everyday.  I spend my days so far keeping in touch with everyone, running a business long distance, and waiting for our ship to come in, literally.
