Do I like living Jamaica? No, and here is why...
I get asked all the time, do you like Jamaica?
My answer is always...
No, I LOVE JAMAICA
I mean really what is not to love, I am so lucky to be here, some days I actually feel bad that I get to live here, it just seems unfair that I get to enjoy all this beauty, rich culture, and sunshine!
45 Winters survived, has earned me a great appreciation for this weather. Today I want to give a shout out to one of the amazing adventures trips that we went on over the Christmas holidays.
Mystic Mountains, in Ocho Rios, in the heart of the rainforest you can find yourself far above the jungle canopy taking in breath taking views of the beautiful turquoise waters and beaches, as you travel to the top where you have many choices of what to do.
At Mystic Mountain you can: Skyride, Bobsled, Zipline, Waterslide or sit and enjoy a snack while watching the amazingly talented performers.
Of course we had to do it all!!!
The Bobsled: what an amazing adrenaline rush, if you are hesitant to go as fast as possible as I was you can control the speed or do what I did, I put someone in front of me who wanted to go fast, I let them control the speed and the ride was invigorating, yes I screamed all the way, but that is part of the fun. Asha Kai, my adopted niece made sure we went as fast as possible, the more I screamed the faster we went... I don't think she even knew where the break was.
The Zipline: I never thought I would ever have the courage to do this but... I did it and now I can not wait to do it again! I have always been an adrenaline junky growing up a short distance from Canada's Wonderland I was there every summer to rollercoaster from dusk to dawn. Ziplinning to me was a whole different ball game, just being strapped in and hanging from a cable... yikes!
Challenge accepted - the zip line is 5 different lines so you zip from one platform to the next, the day was spent screaming, laughing, and having a great time with friends (who are more like family).
Waterslide: the girls didn't feel like getting wet, so only Emanuel went on the waterslide, and as usual everywhere we go he is my biggest kid, he taught many of the waterslide adventurers how to get the most speed on the slide possible.
While Emanuel was watersliding we enjoyed a refreshing glass of water, and watched the performers it was a nice break before we descended back down the mountain using the Skyride (ski lift )
It was a full day and so much fun, Ocho Rios is only a 1.5 hour drive from our home in Kingston so we are able to head there just for the day which is quite a treat.
How do you end a busy day?
Relaxing on the Beach with a drink in your hand of course!
Margaritaville
We ended the day at the Margaritaville Restaurant, Bar and Beach! Yes that is right they have their own beach, it was amazing to sit on the beach have a Bahama mama
and swim in the warm Carribean Sea, it amazes me everytime I go for a swim in the ocean that it is so warm and I can swim all day, on most of our vacations Mom doesn't go in the water I sit uncomfortably on the beach and watch all the fun take part but now, I am living la vida loca!!! I am sometimes the first one in and last one out.
